Living the New York life
A conversation I had with John Weiss (of the Colorado Springs Independent) at the end of October was worth sharing… we were talking about the financial difficulties of being a freelancer/consultant and publishing a book, and all the contradictions that come with
John: “You’re such a good New Yorker, though. You don’t know where rent is coming from next month, but you’re getting flown to Berlin and Chile to speak.”
Me: “I know! It’s truly harrowing sometimes. I’ve got some leads on December rent, so I think I might be okay.”
John: “Wait, you’ve got November set?”
Me: “Yeah, I just figured that out last week.”
John: “Jeeeeez, you’re fine, then!”
